OSHA STANDARDS

 

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) does not have a specific standard dedicated solely to security. However, OSHA does provide guidance and requirements related to workplace security under the General Duty Clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) of 1970.

Under the General Duty Clause, employers are required to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. This includes addressing security hazards that could lead to violence or other threats to employee safety.
